Positiv Honestly it was stunning, they left us a loaf of brea and a pint of milk which doesn't really sound like much but still.

The night sky was incredible (why we were there) and the hot tub so relaxing!

Negativ AC could've been better but it was during a heat wave... other than that they could use a bug zapper above the hot tub haha

Positiv Our weekend at Middlehead Huts in Pickering turned out to be one of those trips you wish you could bottle up and replay whenever life gets busy.

I went with my son for a bit of fishing and some proper time away from screens, and it delivered exactly what we needed. From the moment we arrived, there was this calm, unhurried feeling—just fresh air, open water, and the kind of quiet you don’t realise you’ve been missing.

The huts themselves were simple but spot on, cosy, and well set up for a comfortable stay without losing that outdoorsy charm. Everything felt easy, which made it all the more relaxing.

Fishing-wise, it didn’t disappoint. We had a great time by the water, sharing a bit of friendly competition, and a few proud catches along the way. But honestly, it wasn’t even about how many fish we caught—it was the time together.

Evenings were just as good—winding down, enjoying the peaceful surroundings in the hot tub and feeling completely switched off from the usual rush.

If you’re looking for a place to reconnect—whether that’s with nature or just with someone important to you—Middlehead Huts is well worth it. We came back refreshed, a little sunburnt, and already talking about when we can go again.

Positiv Enjoyed the tranquility and the woodland walks.
Enjoyed the hot tub.
Enjoyed the welcome pack of milk, bread, tea etc and the dressing gowns provided.
Pod was nice and cosy despite low temperatures outside.

Negativ Disappointed to find a dirty cup in the cupboard.
Limited supply of half rolls of kitchen roll and toilet roll.
Would have liked hooks to hang up wet coats as well as an outdoor weatherproof box to store muddy boots.
Hooks near hot tub would be useful for hanging dressing gowns.

Positiv We loved every minute we were there. It was so peaceful, we were fortunate to have nice weather and a clear night sky, sitting in the hot tub with nothing but stars and the sound of nature. It was true awe.
Thank you for for the accommodation we couldn't ask you to make it anymore perfect.

Positiv Lovely views peaceful and tranquil .great location to explore surrounding areas.
The hut has everything you need to enjoy a few days away and relax very cosy warm and air con too. Home from home .
Welcome items bread milk water tea coffee a lovely gesture much appreciated.
Hot tub lovely with great views robes an added bonus too.
Great fishing well stocked lake .
Friendly staff.
Definitely will be returning .

Positiv The location was amazing - peaceful, beautiful and yet near enough to local attractions to go out and explore in the car.
Hot tub was fab, and perfect for soaking tired legs after a day's walking.

Negativ WiFi signal not always good enough to stream tv consistently, and could be a bit more storage space created in the hut.
