Tyckte om Great location , interesting things to see but limited due to timing as we were in a drought and the waterfall was minimal
However it was as still good to see
If all the pubs were open it would have made it better!
Good we found the Phats Forks up the hill, restaurant and also an optional campsite - worth a visit

Tyckte inte om Unfortunately despite having dogs ourselves and a massive field alongside the pitch/ campsite to walk your dog, the pitch we chose (down the far end near the river bank) it smelt of dog wee , so disappointed that we couldn’t even sit outside beside the Motorhome
Equally shower hot water and powerful but had to share with spiders, cobwebs dust and dead flies
Not sure of the toilet or year award !!!
Questionable !!
Needs a little attention to detail I.e clean the block properly and tidy the area up around the pitches

We’re pleased you enjoyed the location and found plenty of interesting places to visit, even though the drought meant the waterfall wasn’t flowing as it normally would. We’re also glad you discovered Phat Forks it’s certainly worth a visit!

We would, however, like to clarify a few points regarding the site.

We have a three-acre field specifically for dogs, so they have plenty of space to exercise away from the pitches. We have never had a complaint about dog urine around the pitches. The area by the river is also regularly visited by a family of otters, and otters can leave a strong musky, urine-like scent where they frequent. It is therefore quite possible that this was the smell you noticed rather than dog urine.

Regarding the spiders, flies and dust, we accept that these can occasionally be present. We have been experiencing an exceptionally dry period, with everything extremely dusty and dry. Our facilities are on the riverbank, and because the lights are on and the windows are kept open day and night for ventilation, insects are naturally attracted inside.

We also agree that the outside of the facilities could do with a wash after the recent dry weather. Unfortunately, we are currently under a hosepipe ban, and we don’t feel it would be right to use large amounts of water simply to wash down dust while water is restricted.

As for the area around the pitches, we take great pride in keeping the site tidy and well maintained. The grass is currently brown because of the drought rather than being untidy, there simply hasn’t been any grass growth to mow!

We’re sorry that your experience didn’t meet your expectations, but we hope this provides some useful context. We always take feedback seriously and will continue to do our best to maintain the site and facilities.

We’re sorry we don’t have a dedicated play park for children. Unfortunately, the field can flood, so it isn’t suitable for permanent play equipment. We usually have more adult guests and don’t have many families staying with us, but when we do have children, we put up a badminton net and also have a large Connect 4 game for them to enjoy also there’s a 3 acre field that they can play ball games in

Tyckte om Grass touring pitch - lovely location for a one night stop off but also would go back for a longer stay. Riverside pitches were lovely. 2 min walk from the falls and 2 lovely pubs. Plenty of space for kids to play and fab toilet facilities

Tyckte om We spent the weekend at this very peaceful and clean site with reasonable WiFi.
The toilets/showers were large & spotlessly very clean. Water pressure not too bad.
Only a small fixed disabled person seat which didn't look all that sturdy/safe. Nowhere else to put items on.
Rita was very welcoming & gave us the necessary toilet key, WiFi password, (you could also buy eggs from her) advice on pitches etc.
When booking you have the choice of grass or hardstanding pitches.
We chose grass as it was cheaper, we paid over £30.00 per night which isn't that cheap.
There are a number of statics on site too, along with seasonal vans/motorhomes.
None of the pitches were that far from the toilets/showers/wash up.
Most of the pitches were relatively flat, except for the grass area alongside the toilet block, it was deceiving.
When you arrive you can choose where you want to pitch.
Plenty of taps around the site so fairly easy to top up water for those in motorhomes/camper vans.
There's a local Nisa shop in the village but it's quite a🚶‍♀️if carrying heavy items.
We would return.

You have to drive half a mile uphill to the farmhouse/reception to check in & the same on checking out.

Lacking anywhere to put items on when in shower. Could also do with another hook. Most sites have 2 in their showers.

Only given one key for toilets regardless of the number in party.
If one of the party has gone to the toilet/shower, it means the other person(s) has to wait for the key to be returned, which could be quite awkward if someone was desperate for the toilet.

We’re sorry the shower facilities didn’t fully meet your expectations. We’ve had no previous complaints regarding the water pressure, and guests regularly comment that it is better than what they have at home, but we appreciate your feedback.

Regarding the price, we completely understand that everyone has to consider their costs. However, all our running costs have increased considerably, including electricity, water, insurance, rubbish disposal and oil, yet we have not increased our prices. We work hard to keep the site affordable and provide good value for money in such a beautiful riverside location, just around 200 yards from the waterfalls.

As for the key, we’re sorry this caused an inconvenience. We provide one key as standard, but if you had asked, we would have been very happy to provide a second key.

We are also a working farm, and our reception is at our home on the farm, which is why you need to drive up to the farmhouse to check in. There is plenty of room in the yard to turn around, and we are always happy to help if needed.

Thank you again for your helpful comments. We’ll certainly take your suggestions about additional hooks and somewhere to place belongings in the showers on board. We hope to welcome you back again.

Tyckte om Was quite quiet for a weekend in August, but lovely and peaceful. Fabulous night sky which we enjoyed in peace and quiet. Fab toilet facilities, and pitched by riverside this time which was far nicer than at top of field.

From the moment we arrived to meet Rita, who was lovely, I had a good feeling about the site which all proved rightly.

The site is nice and chilled with clean toilets and shower facilities.

There is a cool, quirky pub just up the road along with a cute little coffee shop, gift shop and ice cream stand.

I stayed 3 nights and it's was great 👌🏻

Tyckte inte om Not a massive issue but I'd say the pitches are a tad close. For two of our nights there wasn't anyone right next to us, so it wasn't so bad, but on our last night we felt the new arrivals were a tad to close. However, this didn't effect our stay in anyway.
