Ik was blij met What a lovely campsite! The owners were really friendly and helpful and Spud the dog was lovely too! The pitches are well spaced out so even if the campsite is busy you would still have plenty of privacy. They have a couple of firepits available to borrow which made for some lovely evenings sitting by the fire. There was also a little folder in the facilities barn with suggestions and maps of local walks, places to eat and things to do which was a great touch. I was lucky enough to have the whole site to myself but even if it was full they’ve made a provision for an extra toilet in case someone is in the shower and you’re desperate. The shower and toilet were lovely and clean and the shower was amazing! Fridge/freezer helpful and spacious too, lovely washing up area inside the barn block as well. Might be a bit of a squeeze if lots of big tents so check the dimensions before you go, luckily I was able to grab the biggest pitch which fitted my Vango 450 tent, but it was snug! Head torch is essential for the evenings as it has very little light pollution! Also needed to mind out for the toads and newts that appeared on the grass paths once it was dark too! Overall I had a lovely peaceful and relaxing stay, I will definitely be back, hopefully with better weather next time too!

Ik was blij met Another lovely stay at Watergate! Great to have access to the river directly from the campsite and the walk in to Looe is lovely too. The toilets and showers are very basic but always clean and tidy. It’s good that the freezer now specifically says for ice blocks only, so there’s plenty of space. Although I didn’t use one this time, it’s great that there are a small number of fire pits you can take to your pitch.

Ik was niet blij met Not a dislike but a warning for others- there are a lot of flies, but that’s to be expected given its location on the river bank! I just kept my fly screens zipped at all times and didn’t have any problems, but this may put others off. Taking a fly swat is a good idea, and plenty of bug spray too. It didn’t affect my stay at all.
