Faraway primitive forest floor tent campsite
Liked I would say the Faraway pitch was the best pitch I have ever stayed at. It was very private, surrounded by beech trees. It was a good 5 mins walk to pitch from carpark with wheelbarrows provided. Coming back up the path was tricky when leaving as heavy camping gear and tree roots and a bit of an incline was a fair workout
The staff were very helpful and friendly. Enjoyed the bucket showers and the whole eco ethos of the site. Very dark, must bring a torch. Flushable toilets, washing up area and showers by reception very good and clean.
Disliked The price in July at £54 per night was high. The compost toilets ,washing up area and showers could have been cleaner, not kept as well as the toilet area near reception.

From the manager: Hi Pamela, Great to hear that you considered our Faraway pitch to be the best you've ever stayed on! As for the Faraway facilites, we do clean them at least 3 times a day (which is more than most campsites - and our facilities are generally extremely highly rated), but very occasionally they are subjected to some tomfoolery from a group of children (at least we hope it's children!), who have been know to mess around a bit in and around the facilities - when this does happen, we do clean them as soon as we're notified. We hope to see you again soon in our lovely forest. Thanks, All the team at Pegs and Pitches
