  • Friendly family-oriented naturist club 20 minutes' drive from Wisbech
  • Two pools, sauna and large heated clubhouse
  • 18-hole putting green, shuffleboard and pétanque
Croft Country Club has been established as a family-friendly 'naturist' site for over 30 years and is set in 13 acres of landscaped gardens at a peaceful rural spot on the Norfolk/Cambridgeshire border. Whether you are a seasoned naturist or a newcomer, there is plenty to do while enjoying the freedom of being naked in safe surroundings. Settle in here and it’s likely you’ll not be in much of a hurry to head out again, such is the lengthy list of leisure facilities to keep you entertained on site. In addition to the outdoor and indoor swimming pools, there is a sauna and hot tub, and more sporty visitors can play mini-ten, pétanque, shuffleboard and table tennis, or perfect their aim on the 18-hole putting green. Other undercover facilities include a games room, TV room and a clubhouse with plenty of seating, plus a dance floor for weekly discos and regular live entertainment nights (some of which are chargeable). Guests are welcome to use the small kitchen area (with microwave, fridge and freezer) or the communal barbecue. There are farm shops and supermarkets 20 minutes’ drive away, and a cracking collection of country pubs within 15 minutes’ drive. If you do decide to venture out, the site is well placed for touring Sandringham, Cambridge, Ely, King's Lynn and the North Norfolk coast (including Holkham naturist beach). For visitors driving from Europe, it's also about an hour and 45 minutes from Felixstowe, two hours from Harwich and three hours from Dover.

What customers say

Welcoming, clean naturist spot with great pools and amenities. First-timers praise staff & atmosphere. Peaceful, secluded but few shops/spotty cell signal. Wi-Fi upgrade underway. One mention of unwelcoming permanent residents.

Route directions

From the B1099/A1101: Croft Country Club is about half a mile from the junction of the A1101 and the B1094 (Halfpenny Toll Road). Two signs saying 'Greenend' and 'Croft' are situated at the top of the lane leading to the park (at this point most satnavs say you are heading into the middle of a field, as the lane 'Greenend' is not shown on most maps).

Local attractions

Robe up again and get ready to roam – there’s much to do in the surrounds. If you’ve come this way for great gulps of fresh air, might you be tempted by days of horse riding (10 minutes’ drive away in Outwell), fishing at Townsend Lakes (five minutes) or birdwatching at the Welney WWT Centre (25 minutes)? Bike rides are always an excellent idea in this forgivingly flat part of the land, as are walks along the Old Croft river next to the site (a particular source of excitement if you happen to be a dog). Whizz off to Wisbech in 20 minutes or so, not just for shops and restaurants but also for a potter around the National Trust-managed Peckover House, a tour of Elgood's Brewery and a flying display at Fens Falconry. Just outside town, Fenland and West Norfolk Aviation Museum (25 minutes) showcases a different form of flight for folk fascinated by planes. Outings a little further away might include a trip to the handsome cathedral in Ely (30 minutes), a jaunt to wave at the royals at the Sandringham Estate (40 minutes) and a day at one of Norfolk’s gorgeous beaches – head to Holkham, an hour away, for a naturist stretch of sand.
