(Mostly) clean facilities & quiet site.…

Aug 2026

Liked (Mostly) clean facilities & quiet site. Warm showers

Disliked No hot water for washing up. No checking in instructions on the instruction email so we arrived and drove round looking for pitches marked out or some way of knowing where we needed to be. Found a spot unmarked and far away from the electric. Got halfway through setting up our tent and a guy came over to tell us we needed to move. There is a very small sign as you drive in which says you need to call on arrival and be shown where to pitch up. Apparently most people miss this sign - it’s very small and set far back from the road. It was very inconvenient and not what you need after a long drive! Instructions email really needs to have details on, every campsite we’ve stayed at does this, or has check in instructions next to the barrier

From the manager: Thank you for your review. We will consider your feedback and see if improvements can be made. We would like however to point out that the very small sign was in fact 8' by 4' with the title WELCOME located at the top with text considerably larger than the size of numberplate lettering required to be read from 20 metres away for a driving test. The sign is less than 5 metres from the track. We will consider if improvements can be made in this area. We would like to be as comprehensive as possible with regards providing information to campers, however when making bookings via 3rd party boking systems we are limited to how much information we can convey. We will look into providing additional information on the booking response email. With regards to difficulty identifying an electric pitch from a non-electric pitch and being sited. If unsure of where to pitch and having failed to read the welcome sign, we would have thought it sensible to phone the campsite phone number located on the email that provided the main gate code that was used to enter via the site entrance. Additionally each electric pitch has an electric distribution box and sign designating the pitch number. Non electric pitches are located on the opposite side of the access track behind a small bank. Though again we will consider if this can be made more obvious. With regards to a guy came over and told us to move. The Guy in question was actually the Campsite Host who was escorting another camper who had made a booking for the pitch that had been mistakenly occupied. The host then went on to politely explain the situation and requested for this young couple to relocate to the correct area. He then offered and provided assistance in relation to moving a tent, table etc. As mentioned we will consider the points raised with the aim of making improvements were deemed appropriate.
