Camping L’Alqueria is a family-friendly site in the Valencian Community resort of Gandia, close to the train station and a 20-minute walk from the beach, harbour and seafront bars and restaurants. Guests on site will have free access to a good cluster of facilities, including indoor and outdoor swimming pools, a hot tub, gym, playground, pétanque court and multisports court. Kids’ club activities run on bank holidays and throughout July and August, and there’s often evening entertainment in high season too. A small café-bar is on site for easy eats; if you’d rather go down the self-catering route, grab supplies from the food shop (or the larger supermarket next door) and head to the barbecue area. Drinking water points are scattered across the site, and there are plenty of other handy facilities, including free wifi, a launderette and bathrooms with disabled access and baby changing facilities. Much time is likely to be spent on the beach, a two-kilometre sandy stretch with watersports including windsurfing, kayaking and scuba diving, but if you’re looking to set sights a little further afield Valencia is around an hour away by car or public transport.
