The first nice thing about Camping Village Baia Blu La Tortuga? It has direct access to a splendid sandy Sardinia beach through a pine forest – a stroll of just a few minutes takes you from your pitch to the sea. Secondly, the site's diving centre organises everything from sailing, diving and windsurfing classes to boat excursions for snorkelling classes. Guests can rent boats or go wakeboarding, banana boating, waterskiing and parasailing from the beach, and not too far away lies a fine spot for fishing at the cliffs. Splashing even closer to home is sorted at the waterpark (open during high season only), where there's a semi-Olympic swimming pool, spray park and wellness area. Procure all your usual brightly coloured beach bits – inflatables, buckets, spades, snorkels – at the on-site shop, and rent an umbrella and deckchair at the beach upon which to plonk yourself, accompanied by a beverage from the bar nearby. For fuel, pack up a picnic or have lunch at the beachfront snack bar. Next, the on-site eating options: make your way to the site's central square for a self-serve buffet and a pizzeria with a takeaway service; if one fancies dining à la carte, the chef’s specialities include regional dishes such as porcetto, malloreddus and seadas. Daytime activities and evening entertainment are in the central square too during high season, with everything from beach volleyball, ping pong, bowls and tennis tournaments to aerobics, Latino and group dance classes, cabaret shows and live music nights. For kids, there are aqua gym classes in the sea, tennis in the mornings and baby dance in the evenings. Bonus facilities include tennis courts, a well-stocked supermarket and an ATM.

Liked Sehr schöner (grosser) Campingplatz. Die Stellplätze ganz nahe am Meer sind wunderschön. Sehr schöner Strand mit tollen Wassersportangeboten. Diving Center ist ausgezeichnet. Sehr gute Infrastruktur (guter Markt, tolle Eisdiele).

Disliked Zwei von vier Waschmaschinen waren kaputt.

Liked Camping con mucha oferta infantil, amplio, limpio y tranquilo. Por la noche se respeta mucho el silencio.
La piscina es muy divertida para peques y mayores.
El supermercado, siendo de camping, es súper completo y MUY ORDENADO.
El restaurante de al lado de la playa tiene un encanto especial por la noche...y el combinado de pescado es riquísimo.

Local attractions

For foodie adventures outside the park, pick up some seafood out in Santa Teresa Gallura (20 minutes' drive), which is also a pleasant place for an evening wander among craft stalls and ice cream shops. A visit to one of the Agriturismo restaurants (set on farmsteads) is also a must: excellent food and wine and water are usually included in their reasonably priced set menus. By car, take a day trip from Santa Teresa Gallura to the old harbour in Corsica's Saint Boniface on the ferry – for grownups keen on non-stop shopping, eating out and taking in iconic sights from cinematic history, including The Count of Monte Cristo. You can also drive out to see the local nuraghi (ancient megalithic stone structures typical to Sardinia), 10 minutes' drive away, or a little further afield to the towns and cities of Tempio Pausania (35 minutes), Sassari (an hour and 20 minutes), Castelsardo (50 minutes) and Aglientu (10 minutes).
