  • Peaceful site in the Welsh hills, a five-minute drive from Llangollen
  • Pontcysyllte Aqueduct 10 minutes’ drive; Chester 45 minutes
  • Dogs welcome; fishing on the nearby River Dee; close to hiking paths
Load up the motorhome and head to northern Wales – and Ty Ucha Caravan Park. In the Clwydian Range & Dee Valley National Landscape, this peaceful site is surrounded by gentle tree-covered hills such as Pen-y-Coed, so every morning you get to emerge from your accommodation to a rather splendid natural landscape. Hikers might find it impossible to resist the lure of those hills (easily reached via a network of pretty paths), while hardcore climbers in search of a challenge might have their eyes on the raggedy peaks farther in the distance. These include Moel Fferna (50 minutes’ drive); your dog (who’s welcome at the site) should enjoy the exercise and can look forward to having a good sniff of the heather at the summit. Your canine companion can also join you on an exploration of the long weir at Horseshoe Falls (10 minutes, or an hour’s walk along the River Dee), though you will have to keep them on a lead there. Speaking of the River Dee: if you’re into angling, you can get a ticket from the local club (Llangollen Maelor) and spend a day fishing for trout and salmon. Following the river to the west takes you to Llangollen town (five minutes, or a half-hour walk), with its restaurants, independent shops and supermarkets, plus attractions like Plas Newydd Historic House & Gardens. Amenities on site include a modern toilet and shower block (including facilities for disabled guests), and a large washing-up area with multiple sinks. There are also water and drainage hook-up points.

Fully-serviced hardstanding and grass touring pitch

Liked The site is well positioned on the out skirts of the town. It is run by very helpful and frendly staff, full of local knowledge (lovely people). The pitches are fully serviced and the toilet showers are very modern, clean and well appointed, much better than most club sites! The atmosphere of the place was relaxed and non stuffy, everyone seemed relaxed enjoying the shared space. The town is easy to access, a 20-30min walk, also a local taxi is linked to the site. Bonus the local Mr Wippy van came to site on Sat evening. I would recommend this site and would happily revisit.

Fully-serviced hardstanding and grass touring pitch

Liked Very warm welcome, large serviced pitches with wifi which was a bonus, spotless in every way, the recently refurbished toilet and shower block was a real credit to the owners.
The whole site is kept neat and tidy.
The site is definitely worth a visit and you will not be disappointed, Llangollen is a 20 minute walk away which made this an ideal base. We will definitely be back soon

Fully-serviced hardstanding and grass touring pitch

Liked Everything! The views were stunning! The pitches were perfect and the toilet and shower block were outstanding. They were so well thought out, a separate place to sit away from the actual shower. Helen the host could not be more welcoming. It truly is a wonderful site.

Disliked TV signal was a little tricky but the amazing owner was prepared for this and ready to help.

Liked Absolutely stunning site! Used to visit the site as a child and have many fond memories here, so glad to be able to revisit again with my family now and begin to make more memories at such a special place.

The pitches are a great size, level and fully serviced which is a huge bonus! Really well laid out meaning you don’t feel overlooked/ like you’re staring at others the whole time.

The facilities are absolutely immaculate, a true credit to all who contribute to their cleanliness.

All staff we met were incredibly friendly, helpful and made us feel very welcome.

The site is perfectly located in terms of views from the site, absolutely sensational! And a nice 20 minute walk into town too.

We loved our stay and are already planning our return!

Fully-serviced hardstanding and grass touring pitch

Liked Really well laid out site, fairly flat pitches, clean and tidy, very well maintained.
Toilets are amazing, brand new and little things have been thought of. Shower caddy's lots of hooks and also no annoying button to press. Short walk into town. Also nice little woodland walk for dogs. The lady who runs the site was absolutely lovely, really friendly and helpful. The views were also beautiful.

Disliked Phone signal wasn't good but didn't bother us as we have Starlink!

Fully-serviced hardstanding and grass touring pitch

Liked Location, facilities, staff interaction, cleanliness.
Staff were very helpful and informative from the moment we arrived, involving the kids in stories and locations around the site linking into creative imagination for them. The facilities were great. Clean, warm and ideal for what you need. Immaculate showering areas and cleaning facilities. The location is ideal. No more than three Minute drive into LLangollen or local supermarkets. As for the site, with it's location avoiding most light pollution, the clear sky at nights is superb. The public footpaths leading to easy trails through the hills was an unexpected bonus also.

Liked A fantastic site in a beautiful location with the best toilet and shower facilities I’ve ever been to. Spotlessly clean. Lovely friendly staff. Walking distance to Llangollen. Ice cream man comes daily.

Disliked I didn’t have my dogs but would love to come back with them but would need the dog walk area to be enclosed so that you could let them off lead without worry.

Local attractions

Designed by Thomas Telford in the early 19th century, Pontcysyllte Aqueduct (10 minutes’ drive) is an awe-inspiring construction soaring high above the River Dee, supported by 18 monumental pillars. These days, perhaps the best thing about the aqueduct (if you don’t suffer from vertigo, that is…) is that you can take a boat trip along the top. National Trust - Chirk Castle (15 minutes) is a well-preserved fortress built during the reign of Edward I. Check out its elegant interiors, like the panelled Long Gallery, a 17th-century addition decorated with artworks and period furniture. Or stroll around the manicured gardens, looking for the most Instagrammable spot. The Roman heritage of Chester (45 minutes) includes an amphitheatre and sections of the city walls, along which you can walk for a bird’s-eye view of the city. Residents at Chester Zoo, on the outskirts of the city, include lions, capybaras and red pandas.
