Em va agradar Once again Portesham didn't disappoint. Level pitch. Nice easy check in, great staff, clean facilities as always. High tech showers...with seat, and no button! Bus to Weymouth/Bridport and West Bay ...but only every 2hrs! Good value in November.

Em va agradar Quiet grass pitch away from the caravans. Nice outlook over lakes with river behind. Showers/wetrooms were ok. Easy walk along river to town 20 mins. Good value.

No em va agradar Loads of caravans which were very close together (fire risk?) Fly tipping at end of the site. Although there was a secure gate at the entrance, the gate at the back was open as it was a footpath. Entrance through industrial estate off-putting.

Em va agradar Lovely quiet campsite set back from A1. Level pitch. Great modern unisex wet rooms, which were spotless, with hot showers. Polite signage...not lots of laminated sheets telling you what not to do!

Em va agradar We've been before and it's still good. There's 2 wet rooms now, which are clean. Nice flat pitch. Lovely old characterful pub, friendly staff. Well kept site. We stayed another night!

Em va agradar Run by a friendly couple. Little shop open twice a day where you can order fresh baked goods for the next morning. The croissants were nice! Loved the clean, modern shower/toilet block.

No em va agradar Tricky road in with overhanging branches. No black waste. Timed light sensor in shower doesn't stay on long enough!

Em va agradar Friendly welcome from Paul, who pops up to check you in. We could choose our pitch which had amazing panoramic views. Facilities small, but lovely and clean. The site is very well run and maintained, without being in your face! Good walking on the South Downs and not too far from a bus stop on Kirby Drv. Would recommend staying out of school holidays!

Del gerent: thank you for your feedback. glad you enjoyed your stay, yes we are lucky to have the views of the Downs and the Sea from this site, there are many good walks and things to do in the surrounding areas, the site does get busy on the Fridays and Saturdays but we do have a site policy that there is to be no music after 9pm as many of our customers come for the peace and quiet. thank you

Em va agradar Lovely friendly owners. Very well kept site. Nice pitch by the hedge, some pitches would need levels. Near to a small airfield. The facilities are clean and well stocked. There was even washing up liquid! Push button hot showers that could do with a seat! Games room too! Good value for money.

No em va agradar Entrance is very steep off the road which could cause larger vehicles to ground out. Overhanging trees may also be a problem. The site is near the A48 which is quite noisy.

Em va agradar Fantastically well kept site. Friendly welcome. Pristine shower/toilet block and great laundry room. We had beautiful weather in November and had a lovely walk round the village.

No em va agradar Shower partitions are a bit low as the shower trays are high. No Internet signal and WiFi didn't work.

Em va agradar Lovely clean and tidy site. Level pitch. Convenient location. Nice touches with picnic tables and flowers...even in November. This was our second stay here, and we were pleased to see that the showers have been improved to make them more private. The best has been done with the available space. Great to have the radio playing in the toilet block! Used the on site laundry...very good and reasonable price!

Em va agradar Friendly welcome. Lovely clean facilities. Everything is well maintained. Easy walk into Cheddar along the foot path. We parked our van in the camping field which was quiet and peaceful. Nice bakery/coffee shop in the village. We got the bus into Wells, but they are infrequent, and none on a Sunday.

Em va agradar Friendly welcome from Ken. Lovely big field with ehu as standard. The site is very laid back...we chose our own pitch away from it all. Lovely lakes to walk around, or fish in. It was nice to watch the geese and other birds. Clean and modern toilets and showers... but PLEASE put a seat in the showers, our days of hopping about to get dry/dressed are gone! And make sure they all have hooks! Also the showers are dark as they don't have individual lighting. We had a pleasant breakfast at the popular on site café one morning. Easy bus from outside to Canterbury or Sandwich. Very peaceful stay. Thank you

Em va agradar Check in was easy. Friendly staff. All facilities were fine: showers, toilets clean (enjoyed the radio). There's a launderette and shop, plus a cafe that seems popular. Nice flat pitch, divided by fences. Fairly peaceful. Good footpath through the field to New Romney (15min)...there's pubs, shops & a Sainsburys.

No em va agradar Not the campsite's fault, but we were woken, and kept awake, at 05.30 by the loud voices of people who pitched up beside us the night before we left. Very rude and inconsiderate...and against the campsite's rules.

Em va agradar What a gem! Warm, friendly welcome. We had some interesting chats about the history of the site. Fishing lakes and woodland walks with benches dotted about. A peaceful, beautiful site with so much attention to detail. John and Jacqui care very much about their site, and it shows. Very clean facilities and off-set pitches, some right by the lake. Easy access to Lincoln and Horncastle...bus stop on the main road, a couple of minutes walk. We didn't want to leave! John and Jacqui...you should be proud! Thank you!

Em va agradar Brilliant! Warm and friendly welcome from Sue, who showed us around and gave us tea while we chatted! Lovely, small relaxed campsite, at the end of a lane...very quiet and peaceful. It feels very safe here. Beautifully kept with tidy, if quirky gardens. Showers immaculately clean. Care and attention from the owner is obvious. Felt like nothing was too much trouble. We didn't want to leave! Thank you Sue and Bob!

Em va agradar Compact touring site, all usual facilities situated around central office/shop. Clean and tidy. Lovely self contained shower with toilet. We were able to move pitch, by phoning contact number, as we were placed under a large dripping tree in the rain! Friendly staff.

No em va agradar Pitch 8! Under the only large tree madly dripping on the van! Sounded like an intermittent drum! There were better empty unbooked pitches, so maybe keep pitch 8 as the last to be booked? Were able to be moved fortunately.

Em va agradar Clean tidy site. Benches and flower tubs are a nice touch. Used levels on pitch. Everything there that you need. Toilets and showers very clean. Friendly staff. Liked seeing the horses. Conveniently located for us.

No em va agradar Not very impressed with the shower facilities. Three showers open onto a small communal dressing/changing area. Very difficult for older folk, kids (safeguarding issues) and disabled. Can't imagine 3 people in there at once! Personally I wouldn't use if someone was in there already. Also the lights are on motion sensor, which is away from the showers, so you could be plunged into darkness (at night) if nobody comes in and activates it. Accident waiting to happen. I wonder if the owner/manager had tried them out?

Em va agradar Very well maintained, fresh site. Modern tech ANPR to lower the bollards and let us in/out! Friendly staff. Really clean facilities. Vending machines for various items on site..including coffee. Bus stops outside to Weymouth/Axminster every 2 hours. Farm shop and village pub just outside. Reasonable price £22 grass pitch & EHU per night (October) Nice stay on the whole.

No em va agradar Showers in green block a little cold and draughty. Recommend using showers in main building. Noisy, inconsiderate caravan renovation using power tools, and loud voices going on nearby, close to where people have paid to relax etc. Couldn't they have done this in the storage area?

We are not sure where someone was doing caravan renovations - if reported to reception, we would have sorted the noise issue so it would not be so disruptive.
