Beaches, biking and the Burgundy Canal – get ready for a scenic stay in spectacular French countryside, with sands, cycle trails, hiking and boat trips all around. This pleasant state of affairs is at Camping Vert Auxois, a five-minute amble from the pretty town of Pouilly-en-Auxois, placed between meadows and the Burgundy Canal in the greenness of the Auxois region. Among the many activities in these parts are walking and cycling the local trails, staking a space on the nearby lakeside beaches, or drifting dreamily on a boat along part of the 242 kilometres of the canal on its north to south route... Back at base, the heated pool, badminton court, play area, games room and pétanque court can also keep you busy, or you could lurk less actively at the on-site restaurant, which serves local specialities for breakfast and dinner to eat in or take away. A shop sorts supplies and guests can order bread and pastries. Among the amenities are well kept shower and toilet blocks, disabled facilities, a drying room and a launderette. Free wifi is available at the restaurant.

Em va agradar nothing!

No em va agradar pitch layout was not ideal - hook up location wasn’t in a good place.
The facility’s were not clean or welcoming - had to leave a day early due to not being able to shower! Many dead mouse’s found on our pitch when arriving.
Seemed to me more of an older persons camp with them walking around half naked.
Wifi only works where the restaurant is.
Definitely wouldn’t stay again.

We are very surprised to read your review and your rating of 1/10, especially as you did not come to speak to us at any point during your stay to let us know that you were experiencing so many problems.

As the owners of an independent, family-run campsite, we are present on site every day and always try to help our guests whenever an issue is brought to our attention. If you had told us that you were unable to use the showers, that you had concerns about the cleanliness of the facilities, or that you had found anything on your pitch that required attention, we would of course have come to check and do everything possible to resolve the situation immediately.

Instead, we only discovered all of these complaints after your departure, through this review. This is something we genuinely do not understand, particularly as communication is so important to us and we are always available to our guests.

We fully accept that not every guest will have exactly the same expectations, and constructive criticism is always useful to help us improve. However, we are surprised that your experience was so completely different from the many other recent reviews left by guests who have stayed with us. The vast majority regularly mention the cleanliness of the campsite and sanitary facilities, the friendliness and helpfulness of our team, the peaceful atmosphere and the quality of the welcome.

Of course, we respect your opinion, even if we sincerely regret that you did not give us the opportunity to address these issues during your stay. A simple conversation with us could perhaps have led to solutions and allowed you to enjoy your holiday in better conditions.

Em va agradar Place was excellent. It was clean and staff were really nice.
Toilet block was clean all the time and really roomy pitches.

No em va agradar Only thing I can think is because of location you had a lot of change of campers. But that was always going to happen being only a mile and half off motorway.

Em va agradar Schön gelegener ruhiger kleiner Platz, mit super freundlichen Mitarbeitern. Pool zum abkühlen. Brötchen Service und kleines Restaurant. Netter kleiner Ort anbei mit allem was man braucht. Tolle Bäckerei. Super ist auch der Gefrierschrank und Kühlschrank der gemeinschaftlich genutzt werden kann.

No em va agradar Duschhaus etwas in die Jahre gekommen aber völlig okay.

Em va agradar Lovely little campsite. Staff were very friendly, welcoming and very helpful. Facilities were kept very clean. Nice warm showers and water for washing. Pool very clean. Pitches were nice.
Nice to be able to order fresh bread each day. Nice little village to walk to.
Would stay again.

This is such a handsome part of la belle France, with the Burgundy Canal within easy walking distance and the Grosbois-en-Montagne Reservoir within a short drive. Golf, fishing, horse riding, climbing, lake swimming and watersports are in the area: stop off at the tourist office in Pouilly-en-Auxois for heaps of info on what to see and do. Within easy day trip distance at 25 kilometres is the small town of Saulieu and its 12th-century basilica, and the hills, mountains, woodland and waterfall of Morvan Regional Park, also 25 kilometres away. Closer to home, the hilltop village of Chateauneuf-en-Auxois within eight kilometres has a tiptop 15th-century fortress in the Château de Châteauneuf, surrounded by a medieval settlement. Visitors to this region also have the popular and spectacular city of Dijon to investigate, where sights to see include its main street Rue de la Liberte with the Palace of the Dukes and Estates of Burgundy; the Museum of Burgundian Life and the Jardin des Sciences, and many 18th-century townhouses and medieval half-timbered homes around its old streets.
